I would try decreasing your budget for discretionary spending if possible.

I've actually saved more now than in years. I think it has to do with the change in mindset from business as usual to austerity.

I like the phrase "pay yourself first". That's what I strive to maintain.

I can't even begin to express how difficult it is to save while the only source of income is unemployment payments ($107 weekly) with 2 children to take care, extreme health issues, no transportation .. Sometimes it feels hopeless but I can't lose hope. Something has got to get better!
